Construction
The Zylo “BX” range of pipe boxings are manufactured in two and three sided profile shapes, namely BX2 and BX3. They are formed out of an inner core of 9mm moisture resistant medium density fibreboard, mitred to 90 degrees and wrapped in a seamless outer coating of white resin impregnated foil which serves as a finish in its own right or as a base for applying a paint top coat directly to the product. The resultant corner joints have a radius of approximately 1.5mm.

Standard Finish
Medium Duty Foil (white)
For general use.

Standard white amino plastic resin impregnated foil offers an attractive, low cost surface finish, with a very acceptable smooth, flat surface. It has a good resistance to abrasion, scratches and a wide range of chemicals. When used as a base coat it has the desirable property of being a substitute for priming and undercoating, enabling a top coat to be applied directly to its surface. The majority of paints such as polyurethanes and acrylics adhere well to the surface. The final physical characteristics and resistance to chemicals will depend upon the applied finish.

Non-standard Finish to Order
High Duty Laminate (white gloss)
For bathrooms, hospitals, schools, kitchens, public areas, etc.

Recommended for areas requiring high abrasion and scratch resistance combined with a seamless easy to clean surface. This high performance polyester laminate consists of a core paper impregnated with polyester resin and laminated in a special process under pressure and heat. A transparent protective layer of pure polyester with UV-absorber is added to the outer surface to increase the already high light stability of the finish underneath. This finish conforms to DIN 53799, the results of which are as follows :-

Resistance to abrasion DIN 53799/4.6 >350 revolutions
Resistance to cigarette burns DIN 53799/4.8 Brown discolouration
Dry heat resistance DIN 53799/4.9 No visible effects
Resistance to steam DIN 53799/4.11 No appreciable change
Sensitivity to scratching DIN 53799/4.14 No appreciable pitting
Lightfastness DIN 53799/4.13
